This Monday the Club will have a Breakfast Meeting at the Hershey Middle School. Please arrive by 7:45 to find a seat among players from the two teams.

The big game is over, the Friday night lights turned off, and now we can recognize those who participated in the 77th playing of the Cocoa Bean game-coaches, key players, and all the others who made the evening another memorable event in the storied history of the town and school that Mr. Hershey built.
Our Rotary Club was there in force, holding a tent party for dozens of volunteers and families, selling and collecting tickets, and recognizing the Hershey Community Youth Alliance, (the Interact Club) for its amazing drive to collect 5,110 pairs of socks for local charity groups. We will now selectively make proceeds from the game available to that spirited group of socially-conscious students, from both schools, to do other game-changing activities throughout this year. Thats win-win, regardless of the score on the field.

So, come to the Cocoa Bean Breakfast on Monday morning and join in celebrating another stellar year, thanks to Steve Gelder, Mike Kinney, and many other Rotarians who made the event such a success.

Thanks to Superintendent of Derry Township Schools and fellow Rotarian, Joe McFarland, for speaking to the Club last Monday about the latest developments in secondary education and how our District keeps pace with all the trends, while being designated as the top-rated school system in its niche in Dauphin County, top twenty in PA, and among the top fraction of one percent of all schools within the nation. It is a great story and he told it well, with facts and figures (and business manager, Mike Frentz) to corroborate!
