Our dinner will be Saturday, November 9th at the Gettysburg Hotel, a beautiful setting to celebrate all we’ve accomplished in this last year. Please join us at One Lincoln Square on November 9th starting with a cash bar and cocktail hour at 4:45 p.m. After enjoying a bit of fellowship, we will have a brief welcome at 5:45 p.m. and then we’ll enjoy a pleasant meal at 6:00 p.m. Following dinner, it will be great to hear about the fabulous projects done in the 2023-2024 Rotary year. Please join us as Hershey Rotary welcomes our own District Govenor Paul Thompson, Paul is the epitomy of "service above self" and he'll tell us of his plans for Rotary 2024-2025. Paul Thompson has served as President of the Hershey Rotary Club, a member of the District Global Grant Scholarship Committee, and has been extensively involved with the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. Paul and his Rotarian wife, Maria, have four children who have all participated in community and global service projects. Two were outbound exchange students, and the Thompson family has hosted eleven inbound students. In community activities, Paul has served as President of the Hershey Historical Society and Chairman of the Hershey Area Playhouse. Paul’s academic degrees include a Master of Security Studies, a Juris Doctorate and Master of Jurisprudence, and a Doctorate of Law and Policy. He has travelled to seven continents, resided abroad for extended periods, and is conversant in German, French, and Turkish. Paul served in career military assignments as a Naval Officer on Amphibious deployment in the Mediterranean and Atlantic, as attache at the U.S. Embassy in Turkey, as a JAGC officer in trial and appellate military justice positions, as senior counsel to the Chief of Naval Operations, and as Executive Assistant to three National Security Advisors at the National Security Council. Most recently, Paul served as a Professor of Law and National Security at the National War College, and as Associate Professor of Homeland Security at Penn State University. Paul and Maria are Paul Harris Fellows and Major Donors. |

LHM Foundation is a nonprofit organization born out of a desire to identify, implement, and sustain solutions for unmet needs in our communities. The Foundation’s programs include delivering exceptional, comprehensive hospice care to patients and their loved ones (LHM Hospice); deploying volunteer teams into the communities we serve (LHM Beam Teams); and providing transitional housing with supportive services tailored to help participants overcome their barriers to housing security (LHM Horizons). |

Academic Edge would greatly appreciate your support as we endeavor to affix hundreds of badges onto the Girl Scout sashes of our 1200+ Daisies through Cadettes! Academic Edge brings the Girl Scout experience to girls who face challenges and life factors preventing them from joining a community troop. It offers a badge-focus curriculum providing experiential learning! The Academic Edge Program aims to develop girls ages 5-12 into strong communicators, decisive problem solvers, and leaders of courage, confidence, and character. Academic Edge partners with schools and community organizations to provide inclusive programming that recognizes the need for girls to engage with opportunties where they can develop skills in STEM, the Outdoors, Entrepreneurship, and Life Skills. We currently have 52 individual Academic Edge programs being facilitated by 8 coordinators over 7 counties. 1200+ girls are being served by Academic Edge. Please share your time and energy with us to give these strong, creative, thoughtful girls the FULL Girl Scout experience by receiving their official sash with troop number and 7-10 well earned badges. (Note..... no need to bring anything but your energy as supplies, food, drinks and of course Girl Scout cookies will be provided.)

As one of the last non-profit Communities in Dauphin County, Lou will present the expansion plans of this Continuing Care Community for people of all ages. With Lou's vision, The Middletown Home will build beautiful apartments,not just for older people, but homes for families, staff and even Rotary members. This inter-generational focus has been much-talked about, but The Middletown Home is about to make it happen. Exciting stuff!! |
